Simple Device. April 19, 2010 F. Klein 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
This is one of the best wrist strengthening devices around. All you do is stand with your elbows locked and raised at around shoulder level with the rope uncurled, and try to curl the rope up to the top. This is a good way to start out if you're rehabilitating your arm, but as you get stronger, this device lets you add weight to it, a little bit at a time, so you can continue to get stronger and stronger, bit by bit at your own pace. The thing takes any standard weight plates too, so you don't have to go hunting all around to find a special one. Know too that you can also reverse your grip to work the forearm muscles on the other side if you wish.
Good for preventing wrist and forearm problems or rehabilitating an existing injury, its a very simple exercise that works. Can also recommend Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow if you're having trouble with that.
Poor Construction - hand grip glue doesn't stick November 5, 2009 Azure I was hesitant having seen reviews for this and similar looking and named wrist rollers for which customers posted reviews warning about the hand-grip glue. The VERY FIRST TIME I USED this wrist roller after receiving it one of the two hand-grips came unglued. Mind you this was with only 10 LBS attached to it. Beware!
Cheap but effective October 28, 2009 Daniel Grimes Used to have one of these in my gym. loved it so I bought my own. You can tell that this thing is not the highest quality. The rubber handles have a bit of slippage but otherwise works well. I have seen much better quality however, the price is right for what you get with this. I would reccomend it.
ask somebody next time September 22, 2009 O. Weston 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes, the neoprene sleeves will spin on the handles if a weight is on and you don't squeeze.
The biggest problem is the handles are too small in diameter. I had a Bob Hoffman wooden wrist roller about 45 years ago that was two inches or more in diameter. When you roll the bigger diameter thing up, your forearms burn.
It's like they made the thing to be as easy as possible to roll up.
Get something 2 inches in diameter, a piece of rope, and make your own.
This thing is good September 20, 2009 JackMetal (Huntington Beach) This item works big time. I lift weights all the time and this item just blew me away. It gives you a totally different workout than any thing in the gym.
