Product Description The Stamina® Inversion System with the return assist handles make inversion safer and easier. These padded, half-circle assist handles are easy to grasp with a linkage between the bed and the handles that leverages your weight to make your inversion transitions smoother with less strength required.
Amazon.com Product Description The multiple-benefit Stamina 55-1539 therapy inversion system uses the same method that many hospitals and doctors use to reduce pressure on spinal discs, ligaments, and nerve roots while also increasing blood circulation, strengthening the back, and elongating the spine. Inversion therapy is natural and noninvasive, and helps counteract the daily stress that contributes to a stiff back and neck. The system is outfitted with a patented Pellicle mesh bed that conforms to the body while facilitating air circulation, along with a pair of invert/return assist handlebars, which make it a breeze to invert to any angle and return to the starting position. The leg- lock system, meanwhile, holds the ankles securely without restricting them. Other details include an extended, easy-to-reach handle on the leg mechanism; curved, foam-padded ankle collars for added comfort and support; a chrome height-adjustment beam; an adjustable three-position footbar; and an attractive pewter-colored frame. The therapy inversion system, which folds into a compact footprint for storage, is backed by a five- year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on all other parts. About Inversion Tables Back pain is an uncomfortable and cumbersome ailment for millions of people. It can strike repeatedly and without warning, nearly paralyzing its victims with pain and discomfort. Inversion therapy is an excellent way to prevent and treat chronic or recurring back pain. This form of therapy treats back pain by hanging a person upside-down by their ankles. The only problem with this therapy is a risk of spinal injury because of the procedure's lack of support. Fortunately, inversion tables remove this risk. A person can lie on an inversion table, and then gradually turn themselves upside down, always fully supported by their ankles. With precise balance, simple arm movements control the rotation of the inversion table. Special tether straps or locking hinges allows users to stop a rotation at just the right angle in order to stretch a specific place in their back. This technique has proven effective for relieving spine compression, elongating the spine, and reversing minor spinal dislocations. Of course, this treatment is not for everyone. People with glaucoma, very high blood pressure, bone disorders or a history of severe spinal injury or surgery should be careful and check with a physician before administering inversion therapy. However, with a bit of practice and an breath of caution, inversion tables can be your ticket to a pain-free and healthier back.

Works fine, frustrating to assemble, poor manufacturer customer service July 17, 2010 C. Lyndin The machine itself is fine, though not as smooth a ride as others I've used. It is sturdy, with an attractive finish. Assembly instructions are inadequate. It's very hard to know which knobs go where because they're not described and the drawings are tiny. It's also a challenge to figure out from the drawings which is the top and which is the bottom on some parts (such as the ankle pads and foot rest), and there's no written information about that in the assembly manual. One bolt absolutely didn't fit in the hole it was supposed to screw into and a replacement post was needed. And the measuring tape by which you set your height adjustment is incorrectly placed on the post by 3 ½". (This was true on both the original post and the replacement one I received.) Stamina's outgoing voice mail and email both say they will respond within 2 business days, but my 2 voice mails and 1 email were never answered. When I did reach someone by phone, they sent the replacement part quickly.
Great product December 27, 2009 Emil Bodenstein (Tampa,FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I went to Play It Again Sports looking to buy a Teeter. I just figured I would need to decide between the 550 or the 950 model. When I went in the store the rep said I picked a good time to get a table as they had 6 different models available. He told me to try them all. The Stamina was the most comfortable and it was easy to get on with the long handles going all of the way down. Even better is the easy ankle release system. Even though the Teeter 550 was $20 less I bought the Stamina because it had more features and was more comfortable to use. Very happy with my back pain relief since purchased. I have combined the use of the Stamina with daily stretching and seeing my chiropractor. I feel better than I have in years.
NOTE: I bought it assembled so I have no idea if it is hard to assemble.

No problems. We love it.
Does what it says August 21, 2008 Sandra Ramsey (Kentucky) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We found it easy enough to assemble. For the money, it is a good inversion system.
Tony's review of inversion table August 14, 2008 Anthony Del Vacchio 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The product is very sturdy, and well built, and performs exactly as I had hoped, allowing me to invert up to 180 degrees. The assembly directions should be clearer, as it was difficult to understand some steps.
