Amazon.com Product Description Inversion therapy counteracts the forces of gravity on the body (particularly the back) by decompressing and elongating the spine. Not only can this relieve pressure on your spinal cord's ligaments and nerve roots, but it can also relax the back muscles that support the vertebrae. And when your back relaxes, the rest of your body invariably follows. The Body Champ IT8070 Inversion Therapy Table can make a great addition to your daily routine, and help to improve your circulation and posture while relieving muscle aches, back pain, and stress.
The IT8070 is easy to adjust, with a deluxe dual-pin system that lets you quickly find the right position (within a height range of 4' 7" to 6' 8"). It's also a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the pad and lock your feet behind the ankle supports, you simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body will gradually invert until you're almost completely upside down. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself. Construction features include a lower spring-loaded pull pin that allows for easy ankle adjustments; four safe and comfortable foam rollers; U-shaped handrails; a safety strap that lets you control the desired inverting angles; and a safety lock for when you aren't using the table.
The IT8070, which folds for easy storage, will support up to 250 pounds.

basic and functionalJuly 22, 2010 John Ince(Portland ,Oregon) After using a slant board at a set angle for years ( over 10), I decided it was time to try something smaller overall and easier to get in and out off. The most important aspect being able to get out of the device when feeling crippled by pain. This brand of incline table does everything in a functional and useful way.
there is not slick ball bearings for smoothest transitions with hand or arm adjustments, but I had no trouble changing angles as the hand holds compinsate for this feature found in more expensive versions. If you do what the manual said to do, you will experiment until you find the fulcrum of your body on this device. Every body is different in weight distribution over the total lenght of the individual and this device can adjust in about one half inch increments. So adjustment is needed for successful ease of use. I bought this when it was on sale for $90 bucks, but would have given this 5 stars even at it's original retail price. I was just lucky to look at Amazon when I did. Summary: good enough for the masses, but not for the finicky and super picky personality type. Warning: not everyone can benefit from an inversion device, see your doctor if in doubt. I found relief for years on a slant board so I knew this would work for me. Good luck finding relief.
Assemble-easy, works great, and sturdy. Intended for people <250lbsJuly 21, 2010 chaotic5 Assembly took a long time. But that's because i don't have a wrench, it would have been much simpler if i had. The tools that are provided by package will secure and assemble the product, though it will take time and patience. The instructions aren't hard to follow, IMO it's dumby proof. You don't have to read the instructions really, just look at the step-by-step picture and if it looks exactly like it, you are on the right track.
Once Assembled, If you are new to Inversion or have used it before i still recommend using the safety strap to limit the range of inversion so that you get used to inverting ( you can tip the chair before inverting to see how far you are inverting so there aren't any surprises). Read the usage guide and you'll be fine. Take it easy and just relax inverting :) Before you return to standing position, i recommend inverting to horizontal position (parallel to floor) so you let the blood equalize. If you go to standing position too fast, you risk fainting due to low blood pressure (blood draining from head to legs). It happens to the beefyest of the guys so don't think it won't happen to you(It happens to everyone).
The quality of the product looks fairly sturdy. Some joints are welded together and others are assembled by the user. The nut and bolt assembly was a pain to put on without a wrench (Impossible to hand tighten), which means the nut shouldn't fall off or get loose easily.
The guide said to wear sneakers when inverting, but i recommend using boots that cover the ankle. Boots adds extra padding to the ankles to decrease discomfort.
So far, it works as intended. My first inversion at roughly 60 degree angle gave a nice stretch feel to my back. I am satisfied :) 5-Star!
WOW!!!!!July 20, 2010 Lisa F. Kroening(hilton head, sc) I read all the reviews and was worried because it seemed so cheap. I LOVE this machine, my back and my husbands back has never felt better. this will not become something to hold clothes we're actually using this machine every morning. we've recommended it to several friends. maybe they changed the ankle holders but they don't hurt.
