Work Good January 19, 2010 Punisher71 (Wichita, KS) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Words good. Way better than a shirt. Velcro is on the inside so no neck scraping. Good product.
Lift more! October 24, 2009 Jean Sciamanna (Beverly MA) I use my Valeo Bar Pad in a weight training class.
Since I started using it I have increased the amount of weight
I can lift for the back and leg and leg tracks. I only use it for the
tracks that have the weight sitting in the shoulder girdle.
It is amazing how much difference the pad makes. The velcro holds it on tightly and allows you to quickly put in on and remove it.
great product August 30, 2009 Northerner Not too expensive. Extra soft. Velcro is strong.
Makes squats easy on the shoulders!
Should have bought one years ago! July 30, 2009 Leanne (San Diego, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use a Troy Lite barbell, which is a smaller barbell system designed for women, and this works great with it! For several years, I'd just been using an extra handtowel around my barbell when doing squats, etc., and I just wish I had spent the money to get this years ago! It really makes a huge difference in your comfort level because of the nice gel padding inside it.
As another reviewer mentioned, you do just have to be sure that the velcro closure strip isn't on your back when you lift your barbell onto your back, or the pad will separate/come open while you're working out. However, it's very simple to just rotate it so that it's on the top as you place the barbell over your shoulders.
Highly recommended if you have the right size barbell!
It Works Perfectly March 30, 2009 chill_dog It's a bar pad; it is what it is. This one functions as it's intended to. It eliminates the unpleasantness of using just the bar to do squats.
Construction is good, and the one-piece nature of it is very convenient. The width is ok for me, but if you have very broad shoulders, you'll probably want a wider pad (it's about sixteen inches wide).
As for fitment, I have an Olympic bar, and it fits perfectly. The best part is that it doesn't move freely around the bar as some pads do. Set it where you want it, and it will stay put throughout all of your sets; no sliding around or rotating to where the connection point is on your shoulders.
