Product Description Looking for a space- and time-saving workout, all at a great price? The Bowflex® PR3000 is a home gym value leader with more than 50 strength exercises and no cable changes needed between sets - all in a compact, space-saving design.
Amazon.com Product Description The Bowflex PR3000 home gym is a great way to strengthen your muscles with over 50 strength exercises and a built-in rowing station. With up to 210 pounds of Power Rod resistance (can be upgraded to 310 pounds), this versatile machine helps work the abs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, and lower body. It includes a no-change cable pulley system, vertical bench press, triple-function hand grips for lat pull-down, and four-inch upholstered roller cushions for leg extension and leg curl exercises. The PR3000 utilizes Bowflex's patented Power Rods, which provide resistance, or weight, that feels as good as or better than free weights--but without the inertia or risk of joint pain usually associated with free weights. You can hook one, two, three, four or all of your Power Rod units to the cable pulley system and go from as little as 5 pounds all the way up to 210 pounds of resistance. They're precisely manufactured from a high-tech composite material under the highest quality control measures, then sheathed and tested 4 separate times to ensure quality and durability. The Power Rod units are so strong, you can flex them repeatedly but you won't be able to wear them out. Great workout machine! June 27, 2010 Susan M. Curry (Washington State) We are both in our 60's and wanted a weight machine for strength training.
This is working out perfect for both of us! My husband put it together in a couple of hours and we take turns on it. One day I will be riding our recumbent bike while he does the bowflex and then we switch the next day.
It is more fun doing this together. The bowflex seems very, very sturdy and once you have learned the basic workout you can do it in under 20 minutes!
We have only had it a few weeks but we both really do love it! It came packed very very good too!
good workout machine June 16, 2010 Cesar M. Cardenas Torres its only been two weeks since i got this homegym, but i think its great. Since my first baby was born i had no time to go to the gym so i got the bowflex pr3000. It saves a lot of time switching between excercises, even if they work different muscles.
I read that you could download from bowflex's page more excersices than the ones in the owners manual and its true. I think you can get a great workout, specially for the upper body, but for legs it's kind of limited to a very few excersices.
I think the optional 50lb rods should be included, since the machine already comes with the exrta space to intall them and they are needed to get the legs really worked. It should also include an extra pair of handles and an extra hook or clip??? dont know how to call them. (the thing used o attach the handle to the cable).
Ill try to edit this review in a couple of months to see if this machine stands the test of time.
the four stars are because of the things that should be included and beacuse the band that holds the rods together when not in used broke the first time i used it. However it still works with the velcro.

Well made and versatile machine June 14, 2010 Mark Chidichimo (Matawan, NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like any "get in shape" product, you've got to use it regularly to get results. I've used it for an hour and a half every other day for a year and I've definitely seen results (though I don't come close to those well sculptured models they use in their ads.) There are two reasons why I don't give this 5 stars:
1) the "3 times a week for 20 minutes" claim is ridiculous - at least for me
2) the power rods lose their resistance. I bought the two additional 50 pound rods after about 4 months, and there was a huge difference in the resistance compared to the used ones
All in all, I really like this well-constructed machine and am glad I bought it.
Bowflex home gym a definate plus April 23, 2010 Bart J. Hermes (Bothell, WA) I received the unit in one rather heavy cardboard case, it went together very easily and well with the enclosed instructions, and took less than 2 hours to assemble fully. My sons and I enjoy it very much. It is easy to use and transition between the station setups. Definately need the rod upgrade kits as the 210 pound standard limit is easily exceeded in a reasonble time frame.
